The 96th National FFA convention, which was held in Indianapolis, Indiana, nationally recognized and honored all 3 high schools.
Addie Ferguson Avon Park High School, Heather Stewart Sebring High School, and Cathryn Rowley Lake Placid High School were all awarded the coveted American FFA Degree.
As the highest degree achievable in the National FFA Organization, the American FFA Degree shows an FFA memberโs dedication to his or her chapter and state FFA association. It demonstrates the effort FFA members apply toward their supervised agricultural experience and the outstanding leadership abilities and community involvement they exhibited through their FFA career.
American FFA Degree recipients show promise for the future and have gone above and beyond to achieve excellence.
The National FFA Convention & Expo is all about growing the next generation of leaders. No matter where they are in FFA, students that attend find inspiration and direction to become a leader and influencer, ready to make an impact. During this event, members find out who they are, who they want to become and how they can change how the world grows.

Thank you to the Avon Park High School football team for spending time at the elementary school opening doors and greeting students this morning. What a great group of young men!

At our last faculty meeting we talked about how full all of our plates are as mothers, fathers, spouses, teachers, coaches, siblings, referees, disaplinarians, caretakers, chefs, etc and how sometimes this job can be hard because all of those people have the opportunity to talk about us behind our back while we try to manage everything on our plates. But today, we took time to say good things about one another behind their backs by writing a positive message on the plate on their back. Staff loved turning their plates around to read all of the uplifting comments made by their peers. It was a great way to support each other in all of the roles we serve each and every day.
