As part of their unit learning about Aerospace and Flight, Memorial Elementary gifted students had the opportunity to learn all about KITES yesterday.
*They read the book "The Warlord's Kites: A Mathematical Adventure" by Virginia Walton Pilegard to learn about how kites were made and used in Ancient China.
*The students also developed their understanding about the science of kites, and the four forces working on objects in flight.
*Finally, the students then were able to go outside and explore the Law of Gravity (by trying to overcome it) and get their kites to fly.
Such fun learning for our MES Patriot Heroes!

Thank you Hobby Hill Design for donating flowers to our 4th grade students and teachers!!
The donation of the beautiful flowers provided students real life hands on learning of plant parts for their science lesson.
